Purpose of content syndication
Content syndication functionality allows on the one side content owners to share video content with publishers on the other side. Publishers will syndicate content owners’ videos and share with content owners money from Ads (Also publishers can pay for content views to content owners).
Glossary to this user guide:
Publisher (or Syndicator) - Network account which received access (Via content partner connection) to videos from another network account (Content owner) or from Aniview mediator
Content owner - Network account which is sharing own video library with publisher (network account which will syndicate content) or with Aniview mediator
Content syndication elements in the main menu
2 key points in the left menu that are needed to start working with content syndication are Shared Libraries and Content Partners. These two points are located under the CMS menu.
CONTENT OWNER - Start sharing your video library
Step 1 - Open network account
One network account can be a content owner and syndicator at the same time
Step 2 - Upload videos
Upload videos into CMS manually, via a link, or via feed
Each network account can share only its own videos with publishers. Network account can not re-share videos from other network accounts to which access was received via content partner connection.
Step 3 - Create shared library
Open creating page
Click on the menu item Shared libraries under the CMS menu to open the page with the list of all shared libraries
Click the button CREATE LIBRARY to open the shared library creating/editing page
Type the name of the shared library
Field Title is mandatory
Once the content partner connection with Publisher (Syndicator) will be created and enabled - Publisher (Syndicator) will see the name of the shared library on the gallery view
Add videos manually
Click the button Add videos (Note that 1 video can be added only to 1 shared library)
Select videos in the popup and click the button “Add selected videos“
Update shared library via feed
Select feed or feeds in the dropdown
You can select multiple feeds
Note that one feed can be connected only to 1 shared library
If you want to connect feed with shared library - you must create feed with the purpose of video uploading firstly
Feed will autmoatically update shared library if option “Automatically sync” is enabled for this feed
Also, system will add to the shared libraries videos which were already uploaded via connected feed (feeds)
Note that you can update the shared library via feed and at the same time add videos manually
Note that, you can see the number and the list of associated videos on the tab Videos
Save shared library
Button Save is disabled only if:
The field Title is empty or has an error
Feed is not connected and at least 1 video was not added manually
Step 4 - Create content partner connection
Open content partner creation popup
Open the page with the list of all content partners
Click the button New partner
This button is disabled if you don't have shared libraries
Type ID of partner account
Your partner account will be a syndicator
It can be the ID of another network account or Aniview mediator
You will see a hint Partner was found if ID is relevant
Make sure that “Your Status” is “Enabled”
Note that only status “Enable” on both sides of syndication allow to share and syndicate content
Review shared content information
Note that once your content partner will enable connection - all your shared libraries and videos inside these shared libraries will become automatically available to your content partner
All new videos which will be added to the already existing shared libraries in the future - will automatically become available to content partner
All new shared libraries which will be created in the future - will automatically become available to content partner
Configure “Main business model”
Note that the main business model will be the price for all your shared libraries if you will not override specific shared libraries
If you will configure more than 1 business model - it means that publisher (syndicator) will be able to select which business model to follow
You can create the combined business model by combining one Ads-based business (Ad-Fixed-CPM or Ad-RevShare-CPM) model with Content-Fixed-CPM. In this case, the publisher (syndicator) must pay based on both business models: Ad-Fixed-CPM or Ad-RevShare-CPM, and Content-Fixed-CPM.
The explanation for business models:
Ad-Fixed-CPM - publisher (syndicator) will pay N$ for each 1000 Ad Impressions
Ad-RevShare-CPM - publisher (syndicator) will pay N% from his AdRevenue that was generated by playing content owner’s videos
Content-Fixed-CPM - publisher (syndicator) will pay N$ for each 1000 views of content video
Override 1 or multiple shared libraries
Logic for business models and pricing is the same as for the Main business model
You can add multiple overridden rows
If a shared library is overridden - it means that this shared library does not follow the Main business model
Save content partner connection
Click the button “Save”
After saving content partner connection - you must wait until your content partner will also enable the connection. Till this moment partner status will be Enabled.
In the connection when you are sharing your video library with publisher (syndicator) - you have Your role as the Owner
Editing business models/prices
Content owner can not change price/business model for each content partner (syndicator/publisher/mediator) wihout confimarion from content partner (syndicators/publishers/mediators)
In order to change price/business model just open Content partner creating popup and edit price/business model
After saving you’ll see hint that you must wait decision from content partner
Till content partner will not accept or decline changes, you will see PENDING APPROVAL near this content partner connection
Once, you content partner will aprrove these changes, you will see it on the page with the list of all content partners
Important to remember
You can have 2 content partner connections with each network account (Or mediator account). If you are creating this connection to share your library - your role is Owner. If your content partner is creating such connection to share his own content with you - your role is Syndicator.
You as the content owner can disable the content partner connection or archive shared library. These actions don’t require approval from your content partners. But remember that if your content partner (syndicator/publisher) is already using your video content - in this case, your archiving/disabling actions will close access to your video library to your content partners (syndicators/publishers/mediators).

Changing prices by content owners
Note that content owners can change prices/business models. But they can not do without syndicator/publisher approval
